I never used this, I purchased it new from Northern Tool Item# 22204http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_21815_21815A must to prolong the life of your pressure washer but can be used on almost any liquid. Free Shipping to lower 48Protects pump with bypass at 300 PSI instead of 3000-plus PSI. Permits a maximum volume of 3 to 4.2 GPM. 100 to 3000 PSI maximum discharge pressure. Soft start design allows pressure to build slowly instead of creating a big pressure spike when you pull the trigger. 165° maximum water temperature. Inlet and bypass ports are 3/8in. NPTF. Outlet port is 3/8in. NPTM. All stainless and brass internal parts. No external moving parts or springs. It's a regulator. You can plumb this directly to the high side of your pump with a piece of pipe or hose. You will need a small hose (low pressure) to connect your bypass port on the regulator to the intake hose or port of your pump. The other (3rd) port on the regulator is the output of the high pressure which is where you connect your hose for your pressure wand. You can easily adjust the bolt on the regulator to adjust your output pressure anywhere from 100 to 3000 PSI. Laws of physics state you can not compress a liquid. if your wand has a shutoff trigger and your pump doesn't have one of these, then your pump becomes the fuse and something will break.
