Plants 2y.o.. This item is for 6 plants. They are drought resistent perennials that grow 3'-4' tall with huge 3"-4" blossoms. Colors:Large, deep pink daisy-like flowers Long blooming, richer purple petals that sweep gracefull backwards from the cone and the petals don't droop - they look more daisylike . Echinacea is at home in the perennial border and the wildflower garden. Extracts from the fleshy root are usedin the herbal medicine as an antiviral agent and immune system builer. The extract from this flower is commonly recommended to ward off colds and flu. The roots can be harvested only after 4 or more years of cultivation. Fresh young leaves can be used in salad they contain many vitamins. Coneflowers thrives in average garden soils but will take 2 growing seasons to reach its full blooming size. They can be divided after a few years. Great for a back border or as a single specimen. Nice when planted with yellow and white flowers Hardy in zones 3-10 and do best in full sun and well drained soil. The roots are edible and the dried root is used in herbal medicine and allegedly increases the body's resistence to infection. It is said that rabbits and deer do not like this plant.
