It contains plenty of nutritious red light. Red light is most effectively used by plants to photosynthesize. On the other hand, green light is mainly a waste as plants reflect green light back. That’s why plants are green. This bulb is a very good all around bulb for metal halide grow lights. It contains good red content to promote blooming and because it’s a metal halide bulb, it’s blue light content helps keep plants from getting stringy. This is a 3000K bulb. Vertical or Horizontal Burning Bulbs Available The Grow Power bulb shown is a special universal burning lamp so it can be used when mounted horizontally in a typical grow light. If you use a base up bulb in your fixture, it won't last as long or be as bright. If you do have a fixture where the bulb is vertical, then we do have a special bulb just for you. It’s a special base up bulb that’s 5.5% brighter and lasts about twice as long. It has the same nice warm spectrum of the Grow Power We have a case of 6 of these special vertical burning bulbs around. But if you need one you may ask us to substitute it for you.
