Coir Chips Compressed (Bark) BaleYou are bidding on (1 Bale) Coir Chips Compressed (Bark) Bale. This large bale is approximately 12.5"x12.5"x7", and weighs about 9.5 lbs, and is approximately equivalent to about 8 small bricks (small bricks are compressed a little more densely). For a small brick, add about 5 quarts of water, takes about 35 minutes to absorb. Coir fiber is an excellent potting medium for growing orchids, Bromeliads, Tillandsis and even topdressing your favorite house plants. A waste product of the coconut harvest, coir fiber is a renewable resource. It holds 10 times its weight in water and does not shed water like peat moss. Neutral to slightly acidic. pH is 5.2 to 6.8. Weed and pathogen free. Reusable up to 4 years. Pictures below show you the texture of this product. Easy to use just soak in a bucket of warm water for about 35 minutes. Add a shot of Superthrive to the water for even better results. When all water is absorbed drain off extra water (pour into your garden, no need to waste that Superthrive injected moisture) stir coir till light and fluffy bake at 350 for 1 hour - Oh that is my famous oatmeal cookies baking instructions!
